Q:Can Anyone Fly?
A: Well, maybe not just anyone, but yes, you can fly.
Q: Isn't flying expensive?
A: So is your coffee addiction, your cable, internet, unused gym membership, brand new car, boat, vacation and a number of things you pay for that don't fly. Flying is fun. Fly. If you break it down, it's not terribly expensive considering what you're doing. It's probably less expensive to receive your pilot's license, than the new amazing mattress you just purchased, or the fitness equipment you just purchased that you use all the time as a clothes hangar. If it's something you want to do, you'll find a way to do it! If you want to make an excuse, buy another mattress or exercise machine.
Q: Do I have to own an airplane to fly?
A: If you can, it's kind of a cool thing to do... but no. You can rent airplanes when you have time to fly and stay current. Flying is a lifelong accomplishment that you can build on forever!
Q: Do I have to have perfect vision to fly?
A: You can have glasses, contacts, etc and fly perfectly fine, assuming you're wearing them... If you can have the vision to drive a vehicle, you'll be fine for flying.
Q:How long does it take to get my private pilot license?
A: The FAA minimum is 40 hours. Most people typically finish with 60-80 hours, but it's at your own pace. It could be as fast as several months, or it could be a year to finish your private license. It's at your pace. Generally we recommend a lesson once to twice per week to stay "fresh" so you're not having to regain skills every time you hop in the airplane.
